1890 - Established by Robert Keys as a general merchants, in a small
yard
in Londonderry.

- Company founder dies and control is passed onto his son,
R.Fleming Keys.

1930
- Company moves to superior premises on Strand Road, now
incorporating 90,000 square feet and featuring extensive showrooms
and workshops.

1959
- Dr Robert F Keys takes over the running of the company.

1985
- Stuart Keys assumes control.

1986 - Acquires Strabane Plumbing Supplies and introduces new heating,
bathroom and plumbing ranges.

1989 - Acquires Dunderg Building Supplies and widens its customer base.

1989 - Superhomes, becomes the new name for Foyle Frame Homes, a
design division for timber frame package homes within the Robert
Keys Group.

1990 - Celebrates centenary year of a family firm spanning four
generations.
1990 - Achieves registration under the BS 5750 Quality Assurance Scheme
for the manufacture and supply of roof trusses and Superhomes.

Completes many prestigious projects including the Parana Pine
Ceiling at St.Columba’s Church and provision of the wall and floor
tiles for the refurbishment of William Street Baths.

- Broadens horizons and establishes UK based sales organisation.

- Increases product range to cater for everything
‘from a brick…to a home.’

- With over 100 employees and the latest in technology, succeeds in
becoming one of Northern Ireland's leading specialist suppliers to
the building industry.

- R.Keys Group is bought-ouy by the McMahon Group and the trading name
becomes Keys McMahon.
